How Does the Actual Procedure Work?

Preparing for Your Rhinoplasty Procedure

We’ll have at least two consultations before your surgery, answering your questions, and giving you a roadmap for recovery and beyond.

You’ll want to reach out to your insurance carrier, as rhinoplasty can sometimes be a tricky procedure when it comes to insurance coverage. Due to the functional nature of this surgery, there are instances where part of the cost can be covered, so we recommend reaching out to your provider and exploring your options, just to be on the safe side.

Your Rhinoplasty Recovery Period

Most rhinoplasty procedures take between one and two hours, and you’ll be able to return home when your surgery is completed. You’ll experience some soreness and swelling for the first 24 hours, and a bit of bleeding is also normal. We’ll use gauze and medication to control both of these issues.

Cold compresses will also help to mitigate bruising and swelling, which will be present for a few days. Stuffiness can persist for a few weeks, and you’ll need to take care not to blow your nose until the healing process has fully completed. You must also take care to avoid strenuous activity during this time.

We’ll set up follow-up visits to ensure that you’re healing properly, and you should start to see the results of your surgery after about two or three weeks, when the swelling begins to fully subside. Our team will let know exactly when you’re able to return to your normal daily activities.
